The first match of the five-match T20 series between Namibia and Canada was scheduled to take place on March 18 (Tuesday) at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek. However, the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain and a wet outfield.
Despite efforts from the ground staff, the outfield remained unfit for play, leading to delays. After multiple inspections by the umpires and team captains, the decision was ultimately made to call off the match. The players and fans were left disappointed as the much-anticipated series opener could not take place.
With the first match washed out, both teams will now shift their focus to the second T20I, which is scheduled to be played at the same venue on March 19. Both Namibia and Canada will be eager to take the lead in the series, making the upcoming matches even more crucial and exciting.
