VIP Leader Kameshwar Sahni Murdered in Motihari: Son and Second Wife Arrested for Plotting the Killing Over Illicit Relationship

Motihari: In a shocking revelation, police have solved the sensational murder case of VIP Party leader Kameshwar Sahni, who was shot dead outside his house in Darpa, Motihari, on the morning of November 21. The unfolding investigation exposed a disturbing story of betrayal within the family itself, involving an illicit relationship and a brutal conspiracy to eliminate him.

Raxaul SDPO Manish Anand confirmed that the case has been cracked by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed under the direction of SP Vinay Tiwari. The police have arrested three accused, including the leader’s elder son, Sawan, his second wife Soni Nishad, and the shooter Vikas Kumar. A weapon used in the crime has also been recovered.

A Conspiracy Born Inside the Family

According to officials, the murder was planned jointly by Sahni’s son Sawan, his stepmother Soni Nishad, and hired shooter Vikas Kumar. Police first arrested Vikas from the Adapur police station area, who revealed during interrogation that Sawan had provided the weapon and coordinated the plan.

Sawan was subsequently taken into custody, and during intense questioning, he confessed that he had been assaulted by his father several times. But the real motive went far deeper.

Illicit Relationship Turned Deadly

Sawan disclosed that he was involved in an illicit relationship with his stepmother Soni. On November 15, the two were allegedly caught in a compromising position by Kameshwar Sahni. Shocked and enraged, Sahni reportedly beat Sawan and threatened to throw him out of the house. The fear of exposure and humiliation led Sawan and Soni to plot his murder.

In preparation, Sawan contacted Mannu, a close aide of Shailesh Singh, who reportedly had a land dispute with Sahni. Mannu provided the pistol used for the killing.

Murder Execution

Shooter Vikas reached Sawan’s residence a night before the incident. On the morning of November 21, when Sahni stepped outside the house, Vikas opened fire. Sahni was hit with five bullets — four to the head and one to the chest — leading to his instant death. After the murder, the shooter handed the gun back to Sawan and fled. To mislead the investigation, Sawan and his accomplices pretended to be confused and distressed but eventually broke under pressure.

Community in Shock

The murder of a local political figure by his own family has left the community stunned. Sahni served as the district in-charge of the Raxaul organization, and his sudden and violent death triggered intense outrage and speculation across the region.

Police have assured that every individual involved in the conspiracy will be held accountable, and further investigations are underway regarding additional support the accused may have received.
