RCB vs GT IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Struggle to 169/8 as Mohammed Siraj Shines for Gujarat Titans

Royal challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans match scorecard: In the 14th match of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) managed to put up a fighting total of 169/8 in 20 overs against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Choosing to bowl first, GT’s bowlers, led by Mohammed Siraj’s brilliant spell, kept RCB under pressure throughout their innings.

RCB’s Innings: Livingstone Anchors, But Wickets Tumble

RCB had a shaky start as Virat Kohli (7) fell early to Arshad Khan, and Devdutt Padikkal (4) soon followed, bowled by Siraj. The top order collapsed further, with Phil Salt (14) and captain Rajat Patidar (12) departing within the powerplay, leaving RCB reeling at 42/4.

Liam Livingstone played a crucial knock of 54 runs off 40 balls, including one four and five sixes, stabilizing the innings. He found some support from Jitesh Sharma, who smashed 33 off 21 balls, and Tim David, who contributed a quickfire 32 off 18 balls. However, the Gujarat bowlers struck at regular intervals, ensuring RCB couldn’t build a solid partnership.

Mohammed Siraj Stars with the Ball

GT’s bowlers executed their plans effectively, with Siraj being the standout performer. His fiery spell of 4-0-19-3 dismantled RCB’s top order, including crucial wickets of Salt, Livingstone, and Padikkal. R Sai Kishore (2/22) and Prasidh Krishna (1/26) provided good support, while Rashid Khan (0/54) had an expensive outing.

Can GT Chase 170 Under Chinnaswamy Lights?

With a target of 170, Gujarat Titans will look to capitalize on the conditions and their strong batting lineup. RCB, on the other hand, will depend on their bowlers, including Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal, to defend the total in what promises to be an exciting run chase.
