Hyderabad, April 12: In one of the most exhilarating run-chases in IPL history, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) stunned Punjab Kings (PBKS) with a record-breaking batting display to chase down a mammoth 245-run target with 9 balls to spare, winning by 8 wickets in Match 27 of IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
The night belonged to Abhishek Sharma, who delivered a sensational 141 off just 55 balls, smashing boundaries at will and rewriting records with his fearless strokeplay. Partnering with Travis Head (66 off 37) at the top, the SRH duo tore through the PBKS bowling attack, putting up a massive 208-run opening stand in just 15.5 overs – one of the highest in IPL history.
PBKS Post Mammoth 245, Led by Shreyas Iyer’s Blistering Knock
Earlier, PBKS made the most of winning the toss and electing to bat. Shreyas Iyer led the charge with a scintillating 82 off 36 balls, anchoring a superb middle-overs acceleration. He was well supported by Prabhsimran Singh (42 off 23) and the explosive Priyansh Arya (36 off 13), as PBKS reached a towering 245/6 in 20 overs.
