SCO W vs BAN W: Bangladesh Women continued their winning momentum in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025 with a solid 34-run victory over a resilient Scotland Women side at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, in the 10th ODI of the tournament.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Bangladesh Women posted an impressive 276/6 in 50 overs, anchored by a masterful unbeaten 83 off 59 balls from captain Nigar Sultana. She was well supported by half-centuries from Sharmin Akhter (57 off 79) and Fargana Hoque (57 off 84), setting a strong foundation for their total.
Scotland’s bowlers tried to contain the flow of runs, with Kathryn Bryce picking up 2/53 in 9 overs, while Rachel Slater (1/33 in 6) and Priyanaz Chatterji (1/34 in 6) chipped in with timely breakthroughs.
Scotland’s Chase Falters Under Pressure
In response, Scotland showed grit but struggled to keep pace with the required run rate. Priyanaz Chatterji top-scored with a fighting 61 off 63 balls, while Rachel Slater remained unbeaten on 61 off 73 in a valiant lower-order effort. Opener Sarah Bryce also contributed with a steady 42 off 58 balls, laying the early groundwork.
However, Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling proved too tough to crack. Left-arm spinner Nahida Akter was the standout performer with 4/40 in her full quota of 10 overs, dismantling Scotland’s middle order at crucial moments. Jannatul Ferdus (2/43) and Marufa Akter (1/19) supported well to restrict Scotland to 242/9 in 50 overs, falling short by 34 runs.
