BLA Claims 71 Attacks on Pakistani Forces in Balochistan, Warns of New Regional Order in South Asia

In a bold and alarming declaration, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for executing 71 coordinated attacks on Pakistani military and intelligence installations across more than 51 locations in what it describes as occupied Balochistan. The announcement comes amidst heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, adding another layer of complexity to the South Asian geopolitical scenario.

According to a press release issued by the group, the BLA opened a new front for the Pakistani military, targeting convoys, intelligence centers, and mineral transport vehicles. The operations were not brief skirmishes, but sustained attacks that spanned several hours. BLA spokesperson Jeehand Baloch stated that these offensives were aimed not just at inflicting casualties but also at “testing the preparedness, ground control, and defense mechanisms” of the Pakistani forces for future warfare.

Rejects Allegations of Foreign Proxy
The BLA emphatically rejected claims that it functions as a proxy for any foreign power, labeling such allegations as baseless. “We strongly refute the notion that the Baloch national resistance represents the interest of any external state or power,” the group said in the statement. “The BLA is neither a puppet nor a passive observer. We have a rightful place in the current and future military, political, and strategic framework of this region, and we are fully aware of our role.”

In a clear and direct message to India, the BLA cautioned against trusting Pakistan’s repeated peace overtures. “Every mention of peace, ceasefire, and brotherhood from Pakistan is nothing but a deceptive strategy — a temporary tactical maneuver in its ongoing war plans,” the statement read.

Accuses Pakistan of State-Sponsored Terrorism
The BLA launched a fierce attack on the Pakistani establishment, accusing the country of fostering global terrorism under the guise of diplomacy. “Pakistan is not merely a safe haven for international terrorists, but the epicenter of state-sponsored terror. Groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and ISIS have all flourished with state backing. The ISI is the shadow network orchestrating this terror,” said the BLA.

Calling Pakistan a “nuclear-armed state with a violent ideology,” the group added that the nation has blood on its hands and that all of its so-called peace pledges are deeply stained by violence.

A Call for a New Regional Order
Perhaps the most significant part of the BLA’s statement was its call for a new regional order in South Asia. The group hinted at broader geopolitical shifts, suggesting that the current framework is no longer viable. “A new order in South Asia has become necessary. We are positioning ourselves not as a fringe militant outfit but as a dynamic and decisive party in shaping the region’s future,” the statement emphasized.

Implications for India-Pakistan Relations
This development comes at a time when India and Pakistan are already at loggerheads over various issues, including cross-border terrorism and ceasefire violations. The BLA’s message could further complicate regional diplomacy, especially given its direct outreach to India and its challenge to Pakistan’s credibility on international platforms.

With the BLA intensifying its insurgency and making assertive political statements, observers warn that the stability of South Asia may face more severe tests in the near future. Whether this leads to renewed conflict, international mediation, or deeper unrest in Balochistan remains to be seen.
