Supreme Court’s Decision on TSPSC Group 1 Exam Controversy
Before the results were announced, several aspirants had protested against the government order (GO), demanding a rescheduling of the examinations due to concerns over reservation provisions for SCs, STs, and backward classes.
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal represented the petitioners in the Supreme Court, arguing that many candidates would lose their opportunity to appear in this crucial exam.
However, the Supreme Court refused to stay the exam, with a bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud stating:
“The examination is to commence at 2 PM… There will be chaos if we stay the exam at this stage.”
As a result, the TSPSC successfully conducted the Group 1 examination, and the recruitment process is now moving forward.
