Pensacola, Florida: Authorities at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola responded to an active shooter situation at Corry Station on Thursday, March 6. The base, along with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed a significant law enforcement presence in the area as security teams worked swiftly to manage the situation.
The gates at Corry Station, as well as the main and west gates of NAS Pensacola, were immediately closed as a precautionary measure. According to an official statement, individuals within the station were advised to follow security directives while authorities assessed the situation.

“NAS Pensacola Navy Security Forces and local law enforcement entities are responding to an active shooter situation onboard Corry Station,” read a statement from NAS Pensacola on X (formerly Twitter). Officials also assured that more updates would be provided as the situation developed.
Capt. Chandra Newman, Commanding Officer of NAS Pensacola, acknowledged the swift response of the security team and local law enforcement partners.
“Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families,” Capt. Newman stated.
As of now, details regarding the suspect or any potential victims remain unclear. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) confirmed that they received a disturbance call but have not disclosed further information.
