Bihar Final Voter List 2025 Released: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially released the final electoral roll for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, marking a crucial step in the state’s election preparations. Final Electoral Roll Based on SIR Exercise
The electoral roll is based on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) conducted earlier this year. The draft SIR list published in August 2025 contained 7.24 crore names, collected through a voter verification campaign where residents submitted their documents to confirm eligibility.
Following months of scrutiny and updates, the final voter list has now been uploaded on the ECI’s official website.
65 Lakh Names Removed Over Inaccuracies and Duplicates
The SIR process sparked controversy after 65 lakh names were deleted from the draft list. According to officials, these deletions were made due to:
- Voters who had passed away
- Individuals who relocated outside Bihar
- Duplicate or mismatched entries
Opposition parties have raised concerns over possible wrongful deletions, demanding transparency in the revision process.
Fresh Additions — Over 16.59 Lakh New Voters Registered
During the claims and objections phase, 16.59 lakh citizens filed Form-6 to be added to the updated voter database. These applications have now been processed and included in the final roll.
In Patna district alone, the electorate has increased to 48,15,294 voters, which is 1,63,600 more than the draft total of 46,51,694 as of August 1, 2025, according to a statement issued by the Patna District Magistrate on X.

If you’re eligible to vote in Bihar, it’s crucial to verify your status before election day. Follow these steps:
- Visit: https://voters.eci.gov.in/
- Click on ‘Download SIR Draft Roll’ (or go directly to the voter roll section).
- Choose your District, Assembly Constituency, and Preferred Language.
- Under Roll Type, select ‘Final Roll-2025’.
- Choose your Part Number and Name.
- Enter the Captcha correctly.
- Click ‘Download Selected PDFs’ to view your voter details.

Physical copies of the electoral rolls are being dispatched to District Election Officers, District Magistrates, and all recognised political parties. With the voter list finalised, the Election Commission is expected to soon announce the official polling schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
