This year’s pass percentage marks a marginal improvement from 2024, when the overall pass rate was 87.98%. While the improvement may appear modest, it highlights the continued resilience and academic commitment of students across the country.
Girls Outshine Boys Again
Continuing the recent trend, girls outshined boys once more in the CBSE Class 12 board examinations. While the board has yet to release gender-specific statistics officially, the dominance of female students in the top-performing categories across regions reinforces this pattern.
Region-Wise Performances
The Vijayawada region emerged as the highest performer with an astounding 99.60% pass rate, cementing its place as a consistent top scorer in CBSE exams. Trivandrum followed closely at 99.32%, while Chennai came third with 97.39%.
These numbers not only reflect strong academic environments in these regions but also indicate effective local support systems, school management, and student-teacher coordination.
How to Check CBSE 12th Result 2025 Online
Students can follow these steps to download their scorecards:
- Visit the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in.
- Click on the “CBSE 12th Result 2025” link available on the homepage.
- Enter your roll number, admit card ID, date of birth, and any other required information.
- Click on ‘Enter’ and your result will appear on the screen.
- Download and save a copy of your scorecard for future reference.
DigiLocker Access for Digital Marksheets
Students can also access their digital marksheets and certificates via DigiLocker, a government-backed cloud platform. To retrieve documents, students need to log in with their registered mobile numbers or Aadhaar-linked credentials. The CBSE results section will be visible under ‘Issued Documents’ once they log in.
Passing Criteria and Grace Marks
As per CBSE norms, students are declared to have passed if they secure at least 33% marks in each subject. In certain cases where students fall short by just one or two marks, the board may award grace marks to help them qualify.
CBSE also continues to send results directly to affiliated schools via their registered email addresses. Schools typically print and distribute the hard copies of mark sheets to their students shortly after the online declaration.
