Refuting False Military Claims

“Pakistan had falsely claimed that it had destroyed our S400 and BrahMos missile depots using its JF 17, which is wrong in every way,” she stated.
Her response came amid rising tensions and cross-border narratives that threaten not just national security but also public trust.
False Reports About Indian Airbases and Ammunition Depots
Colonel Qureshi went on to address further allegations, asserting that Pakistan falsely reported the destruction of multiple Indian airbases.
“Pakistan also conducted a false propaganda campaign that our airbases in Sirsa, Jammu, Pathankot, Bhatinda, Nalia, and Bhuj have been destroyed. This too is entirely wrong.”
These airbases are not only operational but have shown no signs of attack or damage. India’s Ministry of Defence has also verified these claims as inaccurate, emphasizing that the Indian Air Force remains fully capable and alert.
Additionally, the claim that Indian ammunition depots in Chandigarh and Vyas were damaged was flatly denied.
“That is also completely wrong,” she said, reaffirming the integrity and safety of these strategic assets.
Standing Against Communal Misinformation
A Reaffirmation of India’s Secular Values
One of the most sensitive and serious parts of the misinformation campaign was the false allegation that the Indian Army had damaged mosques. Colonel Qureshi responded strongly to this, stating:
“Pakistan falsely accused the Indian Army of damaging mosques. Let it be made completely clear that India is a secular country and our defense forces are an extremely beautiful representative of the constitutional value of India.”
Her words echoed not just the voice of the military, but that of a nation deeply rooted in diversity, pluralism, and secularism.
The Human Cost of Misinformation
Why Truth in Warfare Narratives Matters
Misinformation in times of conflict doesn’t just confuse; it harms. It can incite anger, lead to unnecessary panic, and deepen communal divides. For civilians on both sides of the border—already living in fear—such propaganda campaigns are a cruel weapon.
Colonel Qureshi’s public denial is more than just a military rebuttal; it is a statement of human responsibility, an appeal to facts over fear, and a reassurance to the people of India that truth will always find its way through.
Moving Forward: Staying Vigilant, Staying United
As digital platforms grow and cross-border narratives become harder to control, India’s armed forces are not just defending territory—they are now defenders of truth in a digital warzone.
The statement from Colonel Sofiya Qureshi is a reminder that the Indian Army is committed not only to physical security but also ethical conduct and national integrity.
A Message That Resonates
From defense corridors to village homes, Colonel Qureshi’s words strike a chord. In times of uncertainty and conflict, clarity and truth are the new defense strategies. Her statement is a testament to the courage, honor, and humanity of India’s armed forces—and a reaffirmation of the ideals India was built upon.
