JEE Main Session 2, 2025 Schedule Released by NTA; No Major Clash with CBSE Class 12 Board Exams

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the schedule for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main Session 2, 2025. The exams for Session 2 are set to take place on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9, 2025. Following the release of the schedule, concerns have emerged about possible overlaps between the JEE Main and CBSE Class 12 Board exams. However, there appears to be no significant clash with major science subjects, which are typically chosen by JEE aspirants.

Details of the JEE Main Session 2 Schedule

JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be conducted on the following dates:

Overlap with CBSE Class 12 Board Exams

On the first day of JEE Main Session 2 (April 2), CBSE has scheduled language paper exams for subjects like Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Sindhi, Arabic, and Tibetan. While these exams coincide with JEE Main, students preparing for JEE are less likely to have opted for these language papers.

Furthermore, the CBSE Class 12 Home Science exam is scheduled for April 3, 2025, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, which may create a minor inconvenience for students appearing for JEE in the first shift. Similarly, the Class 12 Psychology exam will be held on April 4, 2025, but since it is not a common subject for JEE aspirants, the clash is not expected to impact a significant number of students.

No Major Clash for Science Students

The NTA’s decision to schedule JEE Main Session 2 on the same days as some CBSE exams has raised questions, but there is no major clash with core science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics — the key subjects for JEE candidates.

Since JEE Main is a crucial examination for engineering aspirants, the overlap with language and arts-based CBSE exams is unlikely to affect the majority of students preparing for both JEE and CBSE Board exams.
