Thakur’s Spell Stuns SRH

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a competitive total of 190/9 in their 20 overs. Their innings was powered by Travis Head’s aggressive 47 off 28 balls, well-supported by Aniket Verma’s quickfire 36 off 13 deliveries and Nitish Kumar Reddy’s steady 32 off 28 balls. However, SRH struggled against the brilliance of Shardul Thakur, who delivered a match-winning spell, claiming four wickets for just 34 runs in his four-over quota.
Other LSG bowlers, including Prince Yadav (1/29) and Digvesh Singh (1/40), provided crucial breakthroughs, preventing SRH from accelerating further in the latter stages of their innings.
Pooran’s Explosive Knock Seals the Chase
LSG’s chase was spearheaded by a breathtaking knock from Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 70 off just 26 balls. His aggressive stroke play took the game away from SRH in quick time. Mitchell Marsh also played a pivotal role, scoring a composed 52 off 31 balls to anchor the innings.
Despite some resistance from SRH’s bowling unit, led by Pat Cummins (2/29) and Harshal Patel (1/28), LSG’s batters made light work of the chase. Abdul Samad (22* off 8) added the finishing touches, sealing the win in just 16.1 overs.
Shardul Thakur – Player of the Match
For his phenomenal bowling performance, Shardul Thakur was rightly awarded the Player of the Match. His four-wicket haul dismantled SRH’s middle order, restricting them from crossing the 200-run mark.
