President Droupadi Murmu Arrives in Chandigarh for Two-Day Visit

President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Chandigarh on Monday for a two-day official visit, where she was warmly received by several prominent leaders, including Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

The President’s visit marks an important engagement with both Punjab and Haryana. Upon her arrival at the Chandigarh airport, she was greeted by the aforementioned dignitaries, symbolizing the strong political ties between the central government and the regional administrations.

Earlier in the day, President Murmu attended the convocation ceremony at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in Hisar, Haryana, where she addressed the graduating students and highlighted the significance of education in the nation’s progress. Her speech focused on the importance of innovation and research in shaping the future of the country.

On Tuesday, President Murmu is scheduled to travel to Bathinda in Punjab. She will attend the convocation ceremonies of the Central University of Punjab and AIIMS, Bathinda, where she is expected to confer degrees and encourage students to contribute towards nation-building.

In the evening, the President will return to Chandigarh and visit the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Mohali. The Punjab government will host a civic reception in her honor, followed by a banquet dinner hosted by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria.

This visit reflects the President’s ongoing efforts to engage with educational institutions and highlight the role of youth and education in shaping India’s future.
