Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata, March 26, 2025: Rajasthan Royals (RR) posted a modest total of 151/9 in their 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 6th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at Eden Gardens. After winning the toss, KKR opted to bowl first, and their bowlers put up a disciplined performance to restrict RR to a below-par total.

Jaiswal, Parag, and Jurel Show Resistance

Rajasthan Royals’ innings had a promising start as Yashasvi Jaiswal (29 off 24 balls, 2 fours, 2 sixes) played a few crisp shots. However, his dismissal at a crucial stage slowed the momentum. Captain Riyan Parag (25 off 15, 3 sixes) tried to accelerate, but KKR’s spinners kept things tight.

Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel (33 off 28, 5 fours) played a steady knock in the middle overs, ensuring RR had a competitive total on the board. Despite some late hitting from Jofra Archer (16 off 7, 2 sixes), the Royals fell short of an imposing total.

KKR’s Bowlers Shine Under Pressure

Kolkata Knight Riders’ bowlers kept RR batters in check throughout the innings. Varun Chakaravarthy (4-0-17-2) was the pick of the bowlers, delivering a sensational spell that included key wickets of Riyan Parag and Wanindu Hasaranga.

Moeen Ali (4-0-23-2) also impressed, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana, while Harshit Rana (4-0-36-2) and Vaibhav Arora (4-0-33-2) chipped in with crucial breakthroughs. Spencer Johnson (4-0-42-1) was expensive but managed to clean up Jofra Archer in the final over.

Fall of Wickets

RR lost their first wicket when Sanju Samson (13 off 11) fell to Vaibhav Arora in the fourth over. After that, wickets fell at regular intervals:

With 151 runs to chase, Kolkata Knight Riders will be confident of securing their second win of IPL 2025. However, Rajasthan Royals have a formidable bowling lineup, including Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Maheesh Theekshana, who will look to put pressure on KKR’s batting unit.
