India Women Gear Up for England Tour 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian women’s squad for the upcoming tour of England, slated to begin later this month. India will face the hosts in a five-match T20I series followed by three ODIs between June 28 and July 22, 2025. Star batter Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side across both formats, with dependable opener Smriti Mandhana named her deputy.
Shefali Verma Returns, Sayali Satghare Makes Dual-Format Entry
One of the major highlights of the squad announcement is the return of explosive opener Shefali Verma to the T20 setup. After being out of the T20 squad in recent months, Shefali’s exceptional form in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025, where she smashed 304 runs at a striking rate of 152.76, earned her a well-deserved recall.
Another eye-catching inclusion is that of Sayali Satghare, the talented fast bowler from Mumbai. Her consistent performances in the domestic circuit have caught the selectors’ attention. Sayali has been named in both the T20I and ODI squads — a dream moment for the young pacer who is looking to make her mark on the international stage.
Veteran off-spinner Sneh Rana also returns to the T20I squad after a break of nearly a year, having last represented India in the shortest format in July 2023.
Renuka Singh, Shreyanka Patil Miss Out
Surprisingly, India’s pace spearhead Renuka Singh has been left out of the squad. The BCCI has not issued any official statement regarding her absence, but reports suggest that the 28-year-old is still recovering from a shoulder surgery she underwent earlier. Similarly, off-spinner Shreyanka Patil, despite her impressive outings in both domestic cricket and the WPL, has not found a place in either squad.
