Rabbi Alam, a close aide of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Vice President of the United States Awami League, has stated that Hasina will return as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Speaking to news agency ANI on Wednesday, Alam also criticized Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh’s interim government, asking him to “go back where he came from.”
Concerns Over the Situation in Bangladesh
Alam expressed deep concern over the current political situation in Bangladesh, claiming that the country is “under attack” and urging the international community to take action. According to Alam, the unrest in Bangladesh is not a political movement but rather a “terrorist uprising.”

“Bangladesh is under attack, and it needs to be addressed by the international community. A political uprising is fine, but that is not what has been going on in Bangladesh. This is a terrorist uprising,” Alam said.
Gratitude Towards PM Modi and Indian Government
Alam thanked the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their support in providing safe passage for Sheikh Hasina and shelter for several Bangladeshi leaders. He highlighted India’s role in ensuring the safety of Hasina and other Awami League members during the recent political crisis.
“Many of our leaders are sheltered here in India, and we are very thankful to the Indian government for providing the alignment. I also thank PM Narendra Modi for providing a safe travel passage for our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We are thankful to the people of India,” Alam said.
Sheikh Hasina to Return as Prime Minister
Alam firmly stated that Sheikh Hasina will return to power in Bangladesh. Referring to the student-led protests last year, which turned violent and ultimately led to Hasina’s ouster, Alam blamed external manipulation for the turmoil.
“The young generation, you’ve made a mistake, you’ve made some bad things, but that’s not your problem, you have been manipulated,” he said.
Alam also criticized Muhammad Yunus, accusing him of not belonging in Bangladesh and calling for his resignation.
“We want to ask the Bangladesh Advisor to step down and go back to where you came from. You, Dr Yunus, do not belong in Bangladesh. This is the message for the people of Bangladesh that Sheikh Hasina is coming back, she is coming back as the Prime Minister,” Alam declared.
Political Crisis in Bangladesh
Sheikh Hasina, who served as Bangladesh’s Prime Minister for nearly two decades, was forced to step down last year following violent protests led by students and opposition groups. The political crisis created instability in the country, prompting the establishment of an interim government under Muhammad Yunus.
Alam’s remarks have reignited political tension in Bangladesh, with the Awami League’s supporters rallying behind Hasina’s potential return to power. The international community is closely monitoring the developments as Bangladesh navigates through this period of political uncertainty.
