Smriti Mandhana’s Stunning 116 Guides India to 342/7 in Final of Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation Series 2025

India Women vs Sri Lanka Women Final 2025: In a commanding display of batting prowess, India Women posted a massive total of 342/7 against Sri Lanka Women in the grand finale of the 2025 Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation Series at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium. Leading from the front was vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who struck a majestic 116 off 101 balls, laying the perfect foundation for India’s dominance in the title decider.

After winning the toss, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur elected to bat first, a decision that paid rich dividends as the top and middle-order batters stitched crucial partnerships to keep the scoreboard ticking aggressively.

Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana gave India a steady start, with Rawal contributing 30 off 49 deliveries. While Rawal played the anchor, Mandhana took charge with her elegant stroke play, hitting 15 boundaries and 2 sixes en route to her 8th ODI century. The duo added 70 runs before Rawal departed in the 15th over.

Harleen Deol and Mandhana then added 120 runs for the second wicket, with Deol contributing a composed 47 (56 balls). Once Mandhana fell for 116, the middle order took over with an explosive display. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur smashed a quickfire 41 off 30 balls including 4 fours and a six, while Jemimah Rodrigues maintained the tempo with a blistering 44 off just 29 deliveries.

Despite a couple of quick wickets towards the end, including Richa Ghosh (8), Amanjot Kaur (18), and Jemimah, India still managed to push past the 340-run mark, thanks to Deepti Sharma’s unbeaten cameo of 20 off 14 balls.

Sri Lanka’s bowlers found it tough to contain the flow of runs, especially in the second half of the innings. Dewmi Vihanga (2/69), Sugandika Kumari (2/59), and Malki Madara (2/74) shared the wickets but all went at high economy rates. Veteran spinner Inoka Ranaweera (1/62) picked up the first breakthrough but couldn’t stem the tide.

India’s innings featured a well-balanced mix of caution and aggression, with strategic acceleration in the final 15 overs. The team added over 150 runs in the last 17 overs, capitalizing on fielding lapses and erratic bowling from the hosts.
