Hyderabad, March 27 – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) put up a competitive 190/9 in 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 7 of IPL 2025. Despite explosive contributions from Travis Head (47 off 28), Abhishek Verma (36 off 13), and Pat Cummins (18 off 4), Lucknow’s bowlers, led by Shardul Thakur (4/34), kept the total in check.

Opting to bat first after losing the toss, SRH had a shaky start, losing Abhishek Sharma (6) and Ishan Kishan (0) in quick succession. However, Travis Head took charge, smashing 5 fours and 3 sixes in a rapid 47 off 28 balls. He formed a crucial partnership with Nitish Kumar Reddy (32 off 28) to steady the innings.
Just as Hyderabad looked to accelerate, Lucknow struck back with timely wickets, including the run-out of Heinrich Klaasen (26 off 17). The real fireworks came from Abhishek Verma, who blasted 36 off just 13 balls, including 5 sixes, pushing SRH towards a strong total. Lucknow Super Giants bowlers had a mixed outing. Shardul Thakur was the star, picking up 4 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs, including the crucial dismissals of Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Manohar, and Mohammad Shami.
