Bengaluru: In a heartbreaking loss to the Kannada film industry, veteran comedian and actor Bank Janardhan passed away in the early hours of Monday, April 14, 2025. He was 76. The actor breathed his last at around 2:30 am at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, where he had been receiving treatment for health complications.
Bank Janardhan, a beloved figure in Kannada cinema, had reportedly suffered a heart attack a few months ago. Despite his declining health, he continued to stay connected to the world of performance—his passion and purpose for over four decades.
His mortal remains have been kept at his residence in Sultan Palya, Bengaluru, where friends, family, and admirers are paying their final respects. The last rites are scheduled to take place between 3 to 4 pm today, according to family sources.

Bank Janardhan was a household name in Karnataka, known for bringing joy and humor into the lives of his audience through a rich body of work that spans cinema, television, and theatre.
