The European Union (EU) has issued a stark warning to its 450 million citizens, urging them to stockpile essential supplies such as food and water for at least 72 hours. This advisory comes as concerns grow over escalating tensions between Russia and the West, prompting fears of a potential large-scale conflict.

EU Calls for Crisis Preparedness

According to a report by the Associated Press, the EU has emphasized the need for increased preparedness among its member states. The warning follows NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte’s remarks about the possibility of Russia launching another attack in Europe by 2030. Speaking in Warsaw, Rutte assured that any aggression toward a NATO member, including Poland, would be met with a “fierce and devastating” response from the alliance.

“This has to be very clear to Vladimir Putin and anyone else who wants to attack us,” Rutte stated, reinforcing NATO’s commitment to defending its allies.

Hadja Lahbib, the EU Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management, echoed these concerns, highlighting that the threats facing Europe today are “more complex than ever.”

Russian Missile Strike Raises Alarm

The EU’s warning comes in the wake of a deadly Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sumy, which reportedly resulted in dozens of casualties. The strike has further heightened tensions between Moscow and Kyiv, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accusing Russia of “manipulations and threats.”

“We don’t believe them. The world really doesn’t believe Russia. Unfortunately, even now, even today, on the very day of negotiations, we see how the Russians have already begun to manipulate,” Zelenskyy said.

Russia Displays Military Strength

Meanwhile, the Kremlin has been showcasing its military capabilities, with Russian state media reporting the successful launch of cruise missiles from its Ufa attack submarine in the Sea of Japan. The missiles reportedly hit both land and naval targets over 620 miles away in the Khabarovsk region.

NATO remains on high alert, closely monitoring Russia’s movements amid growing concerns over its wartime economy and military expansion.

As tensions continue to rise, the EU’s call for preparedness signals a shift in strategy, urging European citizens to brace for potential disruptions while reinforcing the bloc’s stance against any threats to its security.
