Guwahati, March 26, 2025 – Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered a dominant 8-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 6th match of IPL 2025 at Barsapara Stadium. Chasing a modest target of 152, KKR reached 153/2 in just 17.3 overs, thanks to Quinton de Kock’s brilliant unbeaten 97 off 61 balls.
RR Struggle to Post a Competitive Total
Batting first after losing the toss, Rajasthan Royals had a shaky start and struggled against KKR’s disciplined bowling attack. Yashasvi Jaiswal (29 off 24) and skipper Riyan Parag (25 off 15) showed some intent, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals.
Dhruv Jurel’s steady knock of 33 off 28 balls helped RR cross the 150-run mark, but it was far from a challenging total. KKR’s bowling duo of Varun Chakaravarthy (2/17) and Moeen Ali (2/23) spun a web around the RR batters, while Vaibhav Arora (2/33) and Harshit Rana (2/36) also chipped in with crucial wickets.
Quinton de Kock Anchors KKR’s Chase
In reply, KKR made light work of the target with Quinton de Kock leading the charge. The South African wicketkeeper-batter played a masterful knock, smashing 97* off 61 balls, hitting boundaries all around the park.
Though Ajinkya Rahane (18 off 15) fell early, young Angkrish Raghuvanshi (22* off 17) played a composed knock alongside de Kock to seal the victory with 15 balls to spare.
