Lalu Prasad Yadav, the veteran leader and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo, has been hospitalized in Patna after his health took a turn for the worse. The 76-year-old leader, who has been battling various health issues, including heart-related ailments and kidney problems, will be airlifted to Delhi for further treatment.
Health Issues
According to reports, Lalu Yadav was rushed to Paras Hospital in Patna after he suffered a sudden spike in blood sugar levels and developed an infection due to wounds on his body. His blood pressure had also dropped, but it was stabilized after medication ¹.
Treatment and Airlift to Delhi
Lalu Yadav was initially scheduled to board a flight to Delhi at 4:05 pm, but he was hospitalized before that. He will now be airlifted to Delhi via air ambulance for advanced treatment at AIIMS Delhi, where he has been undergoing treatment for his various health issues.
Past Health Issues
Lalu Yadav has a long history of health issues. In 2022, he underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore, with his younger daughter donating a kidney to him. He has also undergone open-heart surgery in 2014 and angioplasty in 2022.
Reaction from RJD Leaders
RJD leaders have expressed concern over Lalu Yadav’s health and have assured that he will return soon after treatment. Senior RJD leader Bhai Virendra said that Lalu Yadav’s health issues are being closely monitored, and he will undergo a check-up in Delhi.
