LSG vs PBKS: Lucknow Posts 171 Runs as Punjab Bowlers Shine in IPL 2025 Clash

The 13th match of IPL 2025 witnessed an exciting battle between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). After winning the toss, Punjab Kings opted to bowl first, and their bowlers put on an impressive performance, restricting Lucknow to 171/7 in 20 overs.

Lucknow’s Innings: Pooran and Badoni Steady the Ship

LSG had a disastrous start, losing their first wicket at just 1 run when Mitchell Marsh was dismissed without scoring. Aiden Markram (28 off 18) played some fine shots, hitting 4 fours and 1 six before getting out in the fourth over.

Captain Rishabh Pant’s poor form continued as he managed only 2 runs off 5 balls before being dismissed in the fifth over. However, Nicholas Pooran (44 off 30) and Ayush Badoni (41 off 33) stabilized the innings. Pooran’s quickfire knock, which included 5 fours and 2 sixes, provided much-needed momentum before he fell in the 12th over.

David Miller (19 off 18) failed to make a significant impact, but Abdul Samad (27 off 12) played an explosive cameo, smashing 2 fours and 2 sixes to push LSG to a respectable total of 171.

Punjab Kings’ Bowlers Deliver Impactful Performance

Punjab’s bowlers were exceptional, with Arshdeep Singh leading the attack, claiming 3 wickets for 43 runs in his 4-over spell. Glenn Maxwell (3 overs, 22 runs, 1 wicket) and Marco Jansen (4 overs, 28 runs, 1 wicket) bowled economically. Yuzvendra Chahal (4 overs, 36 runs, 1 wicket) and Lockie Ferguson (3 overs, 26 runs, 1 wicket) also contributed effectively.

Punjab Needs 172 to Win

With a target of 172, Punjab Kings will now look to chase down the total. It will be interesting to see if their batters can step up and secure a crucial victory.
