Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has raised strong objections to the recent remarks made by BJP ministers in Maharashtra regarding an Iftar party organized by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta. Speaking to the media in Mumbai, Raut slammed the BJP for its contradictory stance on religious events, particularly in light of its ministers’ comments on the Iftar party.
“The current atmosphere in the country is not right,” Raut said. He expressed his concerns about the growing polarization and intolerance, emphasizing the need for a unified and peaceful nation. Raut specifically pointed out the BJP’s double standards, criticizing their objection to the Iftar party while supporting similar religious gatherings in other parts of the country.
He highlighted the fact that while CM Rekha Gupta’s initiative in Delhi was met with support, BJP ministers in Maharashtra were making objectionable remarks against Muslims, further escalating tensions within the community.
“PM Modi should clarify his role in this,” Raut demanded. He accused the BJP leadership of contributing to an environment of division, rather than promoting harmony among different religious communities.
Raut’s comments have sparked a new wave of political debate, especially as the nation gears up for the upcoming elections. As the controversy continues to unfold, the BJP has yet to respond to Raut’s accusations, leaving the political landscape in Maharashtra and beyond charged with renewed tensions.
