SRH vs GT: Shubman Gill Leads Gujarat Titans to Dominant 7-Wicket Win Over Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025

SRH vs GT: In a thrilling IPL 2025 clash held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans outclassed Sunrisers Hyderabad with a comprehensive 7-wicket victory, chasing down the target of 153 in just 16.4 overs. The match marked a stellar performance by Titans’ captain Shubman Gill, who remained unbeaten on 61 runs off 43 balls, guiding his team to a comfortable win with 20 balls to spare.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, after being put into bat by Gujarat Titans, struggled to find momentum throughout their innings. Despite some resistance from Nitish Kumar Reddy, who top-scored with 31 off 34 balls, and Heinrich Klaasen, who chipped in with 27 runs off 19 balls, SRH could only manage 152/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Pat Cummins added a late flourish with an unbeaten 22 off 9 balls. However, it was Gujarat’s bowling attack that truly set the tone for the match. Playing in front of his home crowd, Mohammed Siraj produced a dream spell, taking 4 wickets for just 17 runs in 4 overs. He was ably supported by Sai Kishore (2/24) and Prasidh Krishna (2/25), who kept the pressure on the SRH batters throughout the innings.

Chasing 153, Gujarat Titans got off to a flying start. Surprisingly promoted up the order, Washington Sundar played an aggressive knock, scoring 49 runs off just 29 balls, and forming a solid partnership with Gill. The duo laid a strong foundation before Sherfane Rutherford joined the party with a quickfire 35* off 16 balls, finishing the game in style. Shubman Gill played the anchor’s role perfectly, remaining unbeaten and ensuring there were no hiccups in the chase. SRH’s bowling attack looked toothless, with only Mohammed Shami (2/28) and Pat Cummins (1/26) managing to pick up wickets.

Mohammed Siraj was named Player of the Match for his sensational four-wicket haul, which broke the back of the SRH batting lineup early in the game. His performance not only swung the match in Gujarat’s favor but also reaffirmed his form and effectiveness in the shortest format.

With this victory, Gujarat Titans continue to rise on the IPL 2025 points table, showcasing strong form and team balance. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will need to address their middle-order inconsistencies and improve their bowling execution as the tournament progresses. Gujarat will next face Delhi Capitals in Ahmedabad, while Sunrisers prepare for a tough clash against Mumbai Indians.
